We're excited to announce that the MyCheckout hosted payment pages have been updated to adhere to the [EU Accessibility Act](https://www.etsi.org/deliver/etsi_en/301500_301599/301549/03.02.01_60/en_301549v030201p.pdf) and [WCAG 2.2](https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG22/). We have made targeted UX and technical upgrades on the MyCheckout hosted payment pages, designed to make every step of the checkout flow more accessible, intuitive, and reliable for all users, without any extra setup on your part.

# What's new?

* **Bigger touch targets for tooltips**
  All help icons and tooltips now meet the 24 × 24 px minimum, ensuring reliable tapping for guidance on mobile and tablet.

* **Streamlined keyboard navigation \& visible focus**
  We've updated the tab sequence to mirror the visual layout, so keyboard-only users can move through fields, dropdowns, and buttons in an intuitive order. Focus outlines remain fully visible and unobscured, guiding users step by step without getting "stuck" or skipping elements.

* **Enhanced screen-reader support**
  Form fields, buttons, icons, and images now include meaningful label elements and ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) attributes, so screen readers announce controls, instructions, and error messages correctly throughout the checkout flow.

# What this means for you

* You can offer a payment experience that is accessible to all your customers, including those with disabilities.

* You can meet your compliance obligations under the EU Accessibility Act for payment interfaces without needing to build your own solution.

* You benefit from improved customer experience, higher conversion rates, and reduced legal risks.

Your customers can now benefit from an accessible flow that works seamlessly with keyboard navigation, screen readers ([NVDA](https://www.nvaccess.org/download/), [JAWS](https://www.freedomscientific.com/products/software/jaws/), [VoiceOver](https://support.apple.com/en-az/guide/voiceover/vo4be8816d70/10/mac/15.0), [Narrator](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/complete-guide-to-narrator-e4397a0d-ef4f-b386-d8ae-c172f109bdb1)), and touch interactions - across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
If you use the **MyCheckout Editor** to change the look and feel of your checkout page (e.g. adjusting colors, fonts, or contrast to match your brand), we recommend validating your design choices using the **WAVE Accessibility Evaluation Tool** . This helps to ensure that your color combinations and visual elements remain accessible, and that you continue to meet the requirements of the EU Accessibility Act. Click this link to access the [WAVE browser extension](https://wave.webaim.org/extension/), where you can choose the extension for the browser you use and run the **WAVE Accessibility Evaluation Tool**.

# How do I know if my checkout page is accessible?

The accessibility improvements are already live, there is no extra setup that is required from your side!

If you want to customize the look and feel of your checkout page, here's how you can validate your design choices for accessibility:

* **Use the MyCheckout Editor**
  Easily adjust your checkout design (e.g. logo, fonts, colors) to match your brand --- no coding needed.

* **Preview changes via the API Explorer**
  Initiate a hosted checkout using the Create hosted checkout API call with the variant ID of the design you want to test. (Refer to the input details in our [API Reference](https://apireference.connect.worldline-solutions.com/s2sapi/v1/en_US/go/hostedcheckouts/create.html?paymentPlatform=ALL)).

* **Validate accessibility**
  Test keyboard navigation (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter) and screen reader behavior to check label announcements, focus order, and error handling. You can also use the [WAVE Accessibility Evaluation Tool](https://wave.webaim.org/extension/) to confirm that colors and contrast remain accessible.
