Does Trustly use overlay/screen-scraping methods, or does it integrate directly with banks through APIs?
Trustly prioritizes direct integration with banks via APIs whenever possible. However, when banks don't provide public access to their APIs, Trustly employs overlay methods. Sometimes, Trustly combines both APIs and overlays, using overlays as a backup solution to ensure uninterrupted service in case of any issues with the APIs.

This is achieved through our exclusive network of bank accounts across Europe, bridging the gap where instant payment infrastructure is not yet available. Do Trustly payments offer real-time confirmation?
Not in all cases. Receiving a 650 response means that the consumer has completed the Trustly payment process, but it doesn't guarantee that the funds have been settled. For assurance, especially with high-value transactions, it's recommended to wait until the transaction status updates to 800 before dispatching goods or providing services. There is a risk of non-settlement with transactions, and your account manager can provide guidance on the optimal time to proceed with goods delivery or service provision tailored to your specific industry.
