What does the migration from iDEAL to Wero look like?
By the end of 2027 at the latest, all iDEAL merchants will have transitioned to Wero. After that, the iDEAL brand will be phased out gradually. The first step in this transition is a joint brand identity iDEAL | Wero to safeguard the strong recognition and trust associated with iDEAL, whilst also building awareness for Wero. All iDEAL participants are required to update the payment product logo on all applicable interfaces by the end of Q1 2026. We will keep you informed about further actions.
In case of any questions, please reach out to your account manager.

Can a consumer dispute a Wero payment?
Yes. If a consumer has an issue with a Wero payment, they should first contact your consumer support to find a solution.
If they can’t resolve the issue with you, they can report this issue directly to Wero. This will trigger the pre-dispute process, a discussion between you and the consumer which Wero will facilitate. If no agreement is found, the consumer will be able to raise a dispute with their bank. From that moment, it's up to the consumer's bank to decide if a chargeback can be processed for their Wero payment.
